Michiko had only a backpack, a few Pokeballs, an Oran berry, and her Charmander. No money or anything like that. Yori waited outside early that morning for Michiko. Goodbye, Viridian City! Hello, Viridian Forest, thought Michiko, as they passed through the gates to the dark forest. She had been in the forest a few times before, picking Pecha berries for Shinju’s Roselia, who wouldn’t eat anything but Pecha berries, which just so happened to be rare in the forest. Michiko bit her lip in excitement. Finally! I’m away from those jerks and their evil Roselia!
“PIKAAAAAAA!” Michiko and Yori heard a Pikachu’s screeching scream for help. “Pi- Pika, Pi!” The Pikachu ran up to Michiko.
“That’s strange,” Michiko started. “This Pikachu is orange!”
Yori gasped. “That’s a shiny Pikachu! They are extremely rare!”
“Then I better catch it!” Michiko stated. She pulled out her Pokeball, but before she could throw it, the Pikachu dashed toward the Pokeball, and was swallowed in a beam of red light.
“Um…” Yori said in disbelief. “Did that Pikachu just capture itself?”
“Hey, twerps!” shouted a young boy’s voice. “You caught the Pikachu we were trying to bring to our boss!”
“Um…” Michiko started. “And you would be…?”
"I’m Ayuma,” said the boy. The girl followed, saying, “I’m Ayame!” Together, they said, “We’re the famous twin thieves of Team Shadow Hypnosis!”
“Oi, this could be trouble,” Michiko said.
“Charmander, come on out,” Michiko said.
“Uh oh,” Ayame said. “Ayuma, we only have grass types with us! We should get going before they destroy us!” Ayuma nodded and said, “We’ll be back for your Pikachu!” The twin thieves ran off into the trees.
“Oi, that was weird…”
“Hey, look, Yori!” shouted Michiko. “It’s a Nidoran, you know, the boy one!”
“It’s my turn to make a capture now!” Yori yelled. “Go, Squirtle!”
A tiny turtle shape appeared in red. “Squirt, Squirt, Squirtle!”
“Squirtle,” Yori shouted. “Use Bubble-beam!” A large line of huge bubbles shot out of Squirtle’s mouth.
“Ni, Ni, Ran!” The Nidoran squealed. He was trapped in one of the bubbles.
“Now, go, Pokeball!” Yori threw the ball. It gleamed red. “YES! I caught Nidoran Male!”
