Image Grid Effect
1.) First, go to File >> Open and open the image that you want to apply the grid effect to. I'll use my good friend Dialga.
2.) Now, go to Layer >> Duplicate Layer, and then click "Okay". Your Layer palette should now look like this:
3.) Here comes the part where we apply the effect. Go up to Filter >> Texture >> Patchwork.

Your image should now look something like this:
4.) Now go to your Layer palette, and select Hard Light.
5.) Done! Your image should have a spiffy grid-like texture like I have here:
